10 Videogames to Look Forward to in 2013

We here (or just me) at Sven’s Lazy Videogame Site have compiled around ten videogames that we are looking forward to in 2013. A little disclaimer, this list only highlights ten games in NO PARTICULAR ORDER. So yeah, we just need to get that outta the way.

10 Videogames to Look Forward to in 2013

1.) Grand Theft Auto V: The GTA franchise marks its triumphant return in 2013. Set in Los Santos, this game will pit the player in a very familiar environment…the same environment they played on in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. For the first time in GTA history, Grand Theft Auto V will feature three playable characters. As a fan of the franchise since the first GTA (yes, the same game that featured the fart/burp button), I’m sure as hell that I’ll be buying a copy of Grand Theft Auto V once it hits the stores next year.

2.) The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct:  NOT to be confused with The Walking Dead videogame that was released this year, this version will be and FPS (First Person Shooter) . TWD: Survival Instinct will feature two of the most popular/controversial characters in the TV series: Daryl and Merle Dixon. Another thing to note about this game is that it’s set before the events of the TV series. It’ll be interesting to see how this game will look into the relationship of the two brothers, among other things.

3.) Splinter Cell: Blacklist: Sam Fisher is ready to burst out into your screens once again, with Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Third Echelon’s best man is, just like before, equipped with the best stealth gadgets and techniques to take out the bad guys. Blacklist adds the ‘killing in motion’ feature that will surely be an enjoyable addition for the gamers. This 7th installment to Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell video game franchise is slated to come on the shelves on March 26, 2013.

4.) Dead Space 3: The video game franchise that gave you some deep space frights is back. Dead Space 3 will be out around February of 2013 and is sure to give another round of shock and horror that the franchise is known for. Remember, in space, no one can hear you scream…or saw/drill/cut off a specific limb of a frozen ghost (or something like that).

5.) Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm: The next installment of the Starcraft II trilogy is coming in 2013. Coming from the heels of ‘Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty’, this expansion pack focuses on the Zerg race. Stracraft and RTS genre fans would surely be in delight when this expansion pack hits the shelves in early 2013.

6.) DmC: Devil May Cry: The Devil May Cry series is having a huge makeover…and it’s apparent when you see how they have remodeled their central character: Dante. If you’re looking for a game that will kick-start 2013 in a good way, look no further than DmC, as it comes out this January.

7.) Injustice: Gods Among Men: If you’re a DC fan, this is one fighting game you’d want to get your hands on. From the makers of Mortal Kombat, this game pits one of the most iconic characters of the DC universe against each other in brutal one-on-one combat. Injustice: Gods Among Men is slated for release in April of 2013.

8.)Tomb Raider: Lara Croft is sure to make a splash in 2013 with this title. The videogame is set to be a huge reboot of the Tomb Raider series, a way to reintroduce the origin story of one Lara Croft. This game is set for release around March.

9.) MLB 13: The Show: Spring 2013 means one thing…no…not love. The opening of the MLB season! So what better way to celebrate the 2013 season opener than buying the latest in the ‘MLB Show’ series? Just like its predecessors, MLB 13 is sure to impress MLB fans when they get their hands on it this March. Yes, as a non-baseball fan…I was bribed to putting this entry on this list. I expect my payment in a few days. Thank you.

10.) Sim City: Do I need to tell you about this awesome game? I do? Fine. This 2013 release of Sim City is a more 3D defined game of one of the best selling PC games in the history of this earth. So if you loved the previous Sim City releases, get a copy of this one it comes out in 2013! *thumbs up*

Other Titles to Look-out For in 2013: Gears of War: Judgement, Command and Conquer Generals 2, Elder Scrolls Online, NBA 2k14, NBA Live 14(….suuuure), Bioshock: Infinite, Metal Gear: Rising, The Last of Us, Duke Nukem Forever 2(*wink wink*)
