Josie Rizal Go Bye Bye? Mokujin NOT a Filipino Character?

Josie RizalJosie Rizal of Tekken 7

After the unveiling of Josie Rizal as a Tekken 7 character, there was a LOT of people reacting to it both positively and negatively. One of the more polarizing negative criticism came from someone in the NCCA (not the NCAA…) or the Philippine’s National Commission on Culture and the Arts.

One fake (and well played) April Fool’s day joke later…Josie’s existence was threatened…

Thankfully cooler heads prevailed and Harada won’t be deleting poor ‘ol Josie(go here for more news..and then some!). All was fine and well but in between that scary moment we also found out THIS SHOCKING FACT!

OH NOES!

…agreed..my life is a lie 😦

  1. No wonder sensible heads didn’t rage over this one. I mean, Namco Bandai has done this with Soul Calibur’s Talim, right?

Now, where were the ‘tards when Talim was revealed?

    Oh right, crickets and tumbleweeds…

    • Well, to be fair to the critics on Josie Rizal and how it was bigger than Talim….Talim’s debut was in SC II..around 11 or so years ago. The net wasn’t that big yet and so was Soul Calibur’s popularity compared to the Tekken franchise. I think it has something to do with that….oh and the name :))) Definitely the name was the issue for that guy. I guess Josie’s pic won’t be put in any ‘Sentro Rizal’ on foreign posts soon I guess :)))
